This brownfield development which was previously the Plumb Centre, has now been converted into a brilliant family friendly café bar, that opened its doors on Thursday 4th August, hosting an invitation only preview evening to some 150 VIP guests.

The evening was a huge success with the venue being jam packed, the café bar is in an excellent location on Shirley High Street and the perfect place to stop for a coffee or a bite to eat at any time of day.

Santo Lounge caters for all ages and tastes throughout the day. Orchards Planning Approved for New Homes On Hendy Site

Councillors have passed plans for the Ford dealership in Southampton to be transformed into 96 new homes in a £12m Redevelopment scheme. more

Orchard are delighted to have been given the go ahead for 18 houses and 78 apartments, up to four storeys high, on the site.

The dealership which has already closed and has relocated to West Quay in Southampton.

Our Planning Director, Mark Sennit said “we will now be able to regenerate this commercial site and bring more families into a sustainable location next to Shirley centre, if the planning had been turned down there was a real risk that the site would have been vacant for some time to come whilst we lodged an appeal”

Work on the development is due to start late Autumn.

Whilst objections were raised by some locals, a majority of these were overcome, and the councillors voted unanimously for the scheme.

The awards evening was a huge success and everyone attending was in high spirits, Orchard presented the Green award, to joint winners Eileen and Alma, both from Banbury. Both ladies were delighted with being shortlisted and neither dreamed that they would be presented with the award.
