Solar Energy is a sustainable source of energy. This means that it is an energy source which can be replenished within a human lifetime and which causes no long term damage to the environment. Extended use of sustainable energy sources aids the conservation of other non renewable energy sources such as fossil fuels. Solar energy technologies, like the solar heating and hot system we are installing at The Dene, captures the suns freely available light in a transfer liquid, the heat generated by the suns light is transferred into a solar cylinder where it is used to service domestic hot water and heating requirements.
